Update: 2024 EEO-1 Filing Timeline and Reporting Changes
There is movement regarding the 2024 EEO-1 Component 1 data collection. While the EEOC has not yet officially announced the opening date, documents submitted to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) indicate the 2024 EEO-1 filing will open on May 20, 2025, and close on June 24, 2025.
Additionally, the EEOC has proposed updates to the filing instructions, including the removal of the voluntary reporting option for non-binary employees, in response to Executive Order 14168. The updated reporting guidance will require employers to report employee counts using only binary sex categories (male or female).
Kairos will continue to monitor the official EEOC announcement and release of updated materials.
