Expert Guidance for NJ Pay Data Reporting Services & Compensation Equity Compliance
New Jersey requires specific pay data reporting for employers engaged in contracts with the State or any of its agencies or instrumentalities (public bodies). If your business provides qualifying services or performs public work under a New Jersey state contract, you must file a report detailing workforce demographics and compensation.
Annual Submission
For Qualifying Services: Reports must be submitted annually by March 31 for the preceding year, using employment figures from any pay period in October through December.
Public Works Projects: Reports must be submitted weekly.
Who to Include
For Qualifying Services: Employers must report on all employees performing work in New Jersey.
For Public Works: Employers are required to report on individuals employed in New Jersey in connection with a contract with a public body to perform any public work.
Submission Data
Submit aggregate data, detailing the number of employees by job category, demographics (such as sex, race, and ethnicity), hours worked, and compensation.
