The California pay data report filing requirements are part of the recently enacted California law that requires all private employers that have over 100 employees or have 100 or more labor contractors to annually report their pay and other workforce data, such as demographics, to the state’s Civil Rights Department (CRD).

To report this data, California employers must submit their reports to the CRD’s pay data portal—the department will not accept reports via email or hard copy. Those who haven’t done pay data reporting in CA before must first register their business in the portal and provide information before submitting the pay data reports.

The annual CA pay data reporting deadline is always the second Wednesday of May. The deadline for filing 2022 pay data reports is May 8, 2024.
