EEO-1 Component 1 Report Updates (Due June 4, 2024)

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has announced important dates and resources for the submission of this year’s report. Please review the information below carefully to ensure your organization is prepared and compliant.

• Opening Date: The data collection portal will open on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.
• Deadline for Submission: All 2023 EEO-1 Component 1 reports must be filed by Tuesday, June 4, 2024.
• Filer Support: The EEO-1 Component 1 online Filer Support Message Center will be available starting April 30, 2024, to assist with any questions regarding the 2023 collection.

• Updates and Instructions: All updates, including the 2023 EEO-1 Component 1 Instruction Booklet and Data File Upload Specifications, will be posted on the EEOC’s data collection website: eeocdata.org/eeo1. These resources are expected to be available by Tuesday, March 19, 2024.
• Who Needs to File: The EEO-1 Component 1 Report is required for private employers with 100 or more employees and federal contractors with 50 or more employees and a federal contract of $50,000 or more. It collects data on race/ethnicity, gender, and job categories.

• Review Previous Submissions: Ensure accuracy and consistency by reviewing your previous year’s submissions.
• Collect Necessary Data: Begin gathering employee demographic and employment data early to avoid last-minute rushes.
• Stay Informed: Regularly check the EEOC’s website for updates, instructions, and FAQs to stay informed of any changes or additional requirements.
• Mark Your Calendar: Ensure the opening date, deadline, and resource availability dates are marked on your calendar.
