OFCCP Releases Fiscal Year 2023 Mega Construction Program Designees

The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) has recently renewed its focus on construction contractor audits, signaling an increased commitment to enforcing equal employment opportunity and affirmative action regulations within the industry. Contractors working on federally-funded construction projects should be prepared for increased scrutiny, ensuring that their practices align with regulations such as Executive Order 11246, Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA).

The OFCCP just released a list of Mega Construction Project Program Designees in the Scheduling List Resources section of their website. “Mega Construction
Designees” refers to large high-profile construction projects that fall under the OFCCP’s oversight. These projects require additional attention and scrutiny from the OFCCP to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

In the context of such large construction projects, contractors and subcontractors may be subject to reviews, audits, and reporting requirements to ensure that they
are meeting their obligations concerning non-discrimination, affirmative action, and equal employment opportunities for women, minorities, individuals with disabilities, and protected veterans.

By proactively implementing policies and procedures to promote non-discrimination and equal employment opportunity, construction contractors can stay ahead of potential compliance challenges and foster a diverse and inclusive workplace.
